Persian Cyclamen features reflexed, wing-like pink petals that appear to flutter against a desolate, rocky wasteland. Thornton masterfully contrasts the flower’s low-growing, intricate elegance with a vast, overcast sky and a crumbling ancient ruin, evoking a sense of enduring beauty in a harsh landscape. In 1799, the Persian Cyclamen was one of the first plates published for the series. It used a specialised colour-printing process where multiple coloured inks were applied to a single plate simultaneously. A revolutionary and expensive technique at the time.
Framed options from A4 to A1 sizes. Frame colour: 'Black' or 'Light Oak'.
