This majestic painting depicts the Norwegian America Line (Den norske Amerikalinje) ocean liner SS Stavangerfjord arriving in harbour, framed by the dramatic colours of a sunset. It highlights the Twin-Screw Mail and Passenger Service connecting New York with Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland. The Stavangerfjord was so well-built and beloved that it remained in continuous service for 45 years, earning the nickname 'The Old Lady of the Atlantic' before finally being retired in 1963.
Studio Gallery Frame in 'black' and 'light oak'; acrylic safety fronts; ready-to-hang options.
