A solitary elderly figure bends forward, weight resting on a staff. Sparse lines and restrained colour emphasise age, humility, and quiet endurance, reflecting Edo-period interest in everyday human dignity rather than heroic idealisation. Portrait of an Old Man (1842), Hokusai demonstrates the masterful brushwork of his eighties. By this stage in his life, he had adopted the name Gakyō Rōjin ("The Old Man Mad About Painting").

Studio Gallery Frame in 'black'; acrylic safety fronts; ready-to-hang options.
