William Morris’s Cray pattern features intertwining floral motifs and leafy stems in a harmonious, repeating design. Its fluid lines and subtle complexity exemplify Morris’s integration of natural forms with decorative rhythm, reflecting the elegance and craftsmanship central to the Arts and Crafts movement. The Cray pattern is named after the River Cray in Kent, continuing Morris’s tradition of drawing inspiration from the English landscape.
