Vintage reproduction of an Impressionist-style lithograph depicts a Messageries Maritimes (MM), in partnership with the Paris-Lyon-Méditerranée (PLM) railway, steamship departing Istanbul. The poster emphasizes the speed and affordability of combined rail and sea travel from Paris to the Orient. The printing house for this poster was owned by Hugo d'Alési, a pioneer who patented a colouring process to make mass-produced travel posters look like genuine oil paintings.
